The food in the back ground is often called “tacos arabes”. It is believed to have been introduced by Lebanese immigrants. They can also be called tacos de trompo. Trompo is top, as the meat is cut off it looks like a top.

& by the way the food in his picture is very similar to traditional Arabic food called SHAWERMA ; made from chicken or meat and serve in sandwiches.

I love your pictures. My husband and I went to Puerto for our honeymoon two years ago. We met so many wonderful people, ate great food, and enjoyed the beaches. It looks like you did the same! Thanks for sharing your pictures and bringing back some great memories!!
