Here is my mini interview with Daniel Harris and some photos of Korean dishes he made. When I saw the photos of the Korean table setting, I was very surprised because all the side dishes on the Korean table: rice, Korean beer Hite, stew exactly look like a Korean table setting in Korea. I couldn’t help asking where the photos were taken. He said all the photos were taken in his house in America! And the side dishes and table setting were made by him!
You will see LA galbi (Korean beef BBQ) in the photo.

1. What is your name and where do you live?
Daniel Harris, Eugene Oregon
“My name is Daniel Harris and I’m a big fan of yours. I direct friends to your website often after I’ve made them Korean food. I spent a year not far from of Uijeongbu, South Korea. I absolutely loved the food & culture.”

Daniel Harris and his daughter Megan

2. How many family members do you have ?
Family of three, wife & daughter

3. How often do you cook Korean food following my recipes?
Weekly – is my favorite food

4. What are your favorite Korean dishes? Choose 3, please!
Too many to list just five =)  – my favorite is Korean BBQ

Daniel says, ” I took the pictures in my garage – enjoyed the beautiful day with some wonderful Korean bbq that I made myself, something I do often during the spring and summer. I tend to over do the number of banchan (side dishes) – but I just love the variety.
One day I will have my own in-table burners – but for now will have to do my bulgogi on the tabletop burner and the kalbi on my little charcoal grill. =)    I’m also interested in Korean posters to put on the walls of my garage as well – something from Jinro Soju and OB Beer would be nice but I can’t find them anywhere online.”

5. What’s your best Korean dish, the one that everybody compliments you on when you make it?
Bulgogi, in lettuce, with ssamjang, rice, kimchi, and garlic

Amazing banchan spread! Love the charcoal grill – where did you get it? Hite owns OB, Hite and Jinro – I bet if you contact the USA distributor they might hook you up with some posters! Make sure you send them a link to this interview!
