Let’s meet another Korean food lover: Joshua in Vancouver Canada.  Let’s see how he got started cooking Korean food and take a look at the delicious Korean food he made. I’m very impressed with the kimchi made with kale! I’m sure he loves healthy food.

What is your name and where do you live?
– My name is Joshua Pang and I live in Vancouver, Canada.

Tell me about the first time you ever tasted Korean food. Where were you, and what did you eat?
– I was in my early twenties and my mother was a big fan of “Jewel In The Palace.” At the same time, my dad’s golf buddies were Korean and introduced him to Korean food. They both decided to bring me to a local restaurant and the first dish I tried was Soondubu Jjigae. I’ve fallen in love with Korean cuisine ever since.

How often do you cook Korean food following my recipes?
– Maangchi’s recipes helped me make the transition to vegetarian cuisine much easier with all of her namul recipes. Whenever I feel like eating healthy and cheap, I follow her recipes. Korean vegetarian food has contributed greatly to my health goals.

What are your favorite Korean dishes? Choose 3, please!
-Oh no, I don’t even know where to start. But after a lot of thinking, I’d have to say my top 3 are:
Soondubu Jjigae, Sukjunamul, and Dubu Buchim Yangnyumjang (Pan-fried tofu with seasoning sauce)

What’s your best Korean dish, the one that everybody compliments you on when you make it?
Soondubu Jjigae. Hands down. Thanks for your recipe, Maangchi!
