What is your name and where do you live?
My registered name in Maangchi website is SoYoung, but my real name is Nurul Azida. My friends call me Nurul, and a few call me Lulu. I’m from Malaysia. I was born in Perak and currently live in Selangor.

Tell me about the first time you ever tasted Korean food. Where were you, and what did you eat?
I can’t recall the first time I tasted Korean food. It must been very long time ago. However the first Korean dish that I made myself, was kimbap. I fell in love with the taste of Korean food and now I cook Korean food more than Malay or any other kind. I like Korean culture very much, and visiting South Korea is on top of my wishlist. I even learned Hangul by myself & I can read it pretty well ^-^

How often do you cook Korean food?
Very often, from 3 to 4 times a week. I was on a diet for a while and cooked my own meals and brought to them to the office. I’d prepare them the night before, and then cook or re-heat them in the morning before going to office.

Besides kimbap & kimchi, I already tried ddeokbokkie (떡볶이), musaengchae (무우생채), hotteok (호떡), japchae (잡채), chapssaltteok (찹쌀떡), bibimguksu (비빔국수), danpatjuk (단팥죽) and the list is going on ^^. But the one I cook the most is sundubu-jjigae (순두부찌개) and I really appreciate that you remade the video in HD.

What are your 3 favorite Korean dishes?
Honestly, its really hard for me to choose only 3 dishes, because my list of favorites is long. My friends said that there’s a Korean soul trapped inside me LOL.

However, my top 3 dishes are probably sundubu-jjigae (순두부찌개), various types of jeon (전) and bibimguksu (비빔국수).

What’s your best Korean dish, the one that everybody compliments you on?
Kimbap and kimchi. I often make a huge batch of kimchi and give it to my friends. They love it!Korean pancake
