Is there a way to make the rice cakes from scratch?
I looked for them at my local korean grocery store, but i couldn’t find them :(

Hi mama maangchi~! Long time no talk haha~! i just bought a pack of rice cake and placed it on the fridge.. I’m gonna cook it on December 31 but i really doubt on its life.. Should i cook it now or is it okay to keep it on the fridge and cook it after 4 nights? Please reply mama maangchi! Thanks~! n_n

i live in the north of the uk and its very hard to get any korean ingredents especially these rice cakes i looked online to find them but the ones close enough to me are london but their sites are in korean which makes it harder as i cant read it at all can you help me i really want to try and make dduk bok kie

I understand that it is near impossible to make your own ddeok?
We bought a juicer in Korea, that were supposed to be able to make ddeok, but it comes out way too soft and wet, so when we try to make ddeokbokgi, it falls apart during cooking and it doesn’t taste like it is supposed to.
Do you know of any korean shops around northern europe? Preferrably in Denmark, but if not then southern Sweden, northern Germany or England?

Keep it in the freezer instead of the refrigerator, then thaw it out when you use it.

Yesterday I just bought rice cake again for the second time because the old one got bad.. how am i supposed to keep it fresh for longer.. Am i not allowed to put it in the fridge or just leave it out or something.. ? thnkz

There are couple of Korean Markets in SF on Geary Blvd in the Richmond District as well as one in Daly City near the movie theatre. Here is a link for more info.
