This rice has name sweet rice, but it has nothing to do with real sweet taste. It’s just a name. : )
It’s more sticky than usual short grain rice.

Is it possible to use normal white rice or sticky rice instead?
Nhi, no, I’m using normal short grain rice (known as sushi rice) to make rice.
Hi Maangchi,
Is this the same rice that use to cook steam rice I normally get at Korean restaurants?
Thanks!
