The only authentic Korean restaurant in The Hague, owned and run by a nice Korean family. They have a simple selection of six BBQ courses to choose from, which includes bulgogi, galbi, spicy pork & chicken, and marinated shrimp. All the main grilled entrees come with a pajun, soup, banchan, lettuce, kimchee and rice. At prices between around 15-18 euro for each menu, it's a pretty good deal considering that they refill everything (except the meat). My favorite is the shrimp, but the marinade for the bulgogi is also delicious. My husband loves the spicy pork. The kimchee is homemade and also very yummy.
They also have bibimbap, dwenjang-jigae (amazing!), mae-un tang, and seafood pajun on the menu, but they can make other things by request such as japchae, golbengi, or ddukbokki.

Overall it's a great (and only) place to get your Korean food fix in town, the decor is very cozy and not a bad place to take a date. The only thing is you should definitely make a reservation because there aren't a lot of tables! Also there's usually only one person waiting tables, so if it's busy be prepared to wait a little for things like drinks (food can arrive first). And bring cash, they also take credit cards but NOT debit/pincards.

This is our most frequented Korean restaurant. It is located in the shopping center with a Super Hmart, a very large Korean/asian grocery store. The stew here are fantastic and they also have indoor bbq for those of you who enjoy cooking your meat at the table. Sushi also available as well. We enjoy a nice lunch or dinner here before we hit the market to stock up on Korean banchan.

Bonga Korean Restaurant

This weekend we had lunch at Bonga. This was my third trip to the place. I have been happy each time. I had the Goat soup, we also had kimchie chigaee, and dolsotbibimbab. All of the dishes were good, the Banchan was also good.

Hi! So I just want to review for this restaurant called "BonChon" Located in Centreville, Fairfax, and Annandale in VA. Basically it's a sort of like Popeyes but it's a korean style fried chicken called "Yangnyeom Tongdak" and I believe that Maangchi has made a recipe "how to" on it already! The restaurant is Very good! The chicken is also very good and comes with a few side like pickled radish and such. You can also eat "in" or call! I usually call and you have to PICK-UP the food from the restaurant,(it is not like a Pizza Hut and they deliver!). I don't mind since the food is so Good!! SO basically i recommend this restaurant!

its right on campus of University of Minnesota on OAK STREET. its a little building so you might miss it.
the restaurant is under a Karaoke too all owned by korean owners ^^.
the food there is reallly good. for those who can't seem to find korean food.
price is decent up to 20 bux usually on seafood dishes. but they have lunch specials for 6.99 if i remembered correctly if not at least 7.99.
Their menu is limited maybe about 15 dishes. and appetizers are priced as an entree but they are still good
Out of minneapolis or saint paul area i love their Kimbap the best. i have yet to try Hoban's food.
the atmosphere is very korean like. Like most korean places you get refills on banchan, and it use to be self serve but now they take care of it for banchan. you pick up your order yourself and you return ur tray as well. its like what you see on korean dramas LOL.

bibimbap, kalibi, bulgogi, dolsot bibimbap, and kalitang are what i usually order and they are AWESOME.
the banchan's here vary on what you order and you get about 5-6 banchans

ANother korean restaurant on campus is TOFU HOUSE.
its on the same street but crosses another street.
it's Really small but cozy and you can see the condensation inside when its cold outside. it reminds me of those little shops in korean dramas as well.
as you can see their main speciality is Tofu soups with different ingrediants like seafood or beef and they have about 5-10 other dishes besides the soup.
they have up to maybe 15 soups? but i was there only 2 times. My boyfriend really loves that place and one day with maangchi's receipe i can make it for him. They have small size and the largest size they have for soups and they are usually the cheapest dishes on the menu. Dishes like Kalibi and bibimbap are really expensive there but it makes sense. they also have a menu set with the soup and a korean dish. the owners there are really nice.

Another korean place is: MIRRORS of KOREA - st. paul, snelling ave
kinda pricey place but its worth the money you pay because they give you big portions and you get up to 10 banchans no matter what you order and the waiter there is AWESOME he use to work at this one korean restaurant that closed (*it was the best korean place i went to my freshman year called YUMMY YUMMY* that was on campus in minneapolis) and he remembered me and one of my friend that visited often. great atmosphere and modern and family friendly. they play korean music in the background so if you're a korean music fanatic you'll recognize the songs immediately. they have a wider menu than Korea Cafe.

Lunch Buffet Korean & Sushi - St. Paul, Snelling AVE
this place was a let down but it was just typical korean food buffet style.
not a lot of variety but lots of banchan dishes. the sushi there was buffet style so nothing extravagant. for my opinion it was a waste of money for what they have out there as buffet. My boyfriend loves to eat food and even he was disappointed i think we'll stay away from korean buffets for now lol.

DONG YANG ORIENTAL FOOD - Hiltop/FRIDLEY
this place is AMAZING the food taste so authentic and you can see them make it in front of your eyes. i like places like a grocery store and they have their own little restaurant. I've only ate there once but it left a big impression on me because i ate with such great people and korean natives so i trust their judgement.
although nothing beats homecook meals, and i have heard from many korean natives that this was their favorite place for cooked food and grocerys.

*a case of strawberry milkis is soooooooooooo CHEAP!!!

Located in Seoul Plaza it was kind of hard to find. But I am very glad that I did.

I had Kimbab and Ohjinguh Dolsot Bibimbap. Both were really good. The Banchan that they serve are amazing.

When they served the banchan they started to tell what they were. Then I pointed out what each one was. After that they braught more for me to try. Then at the end of the meal Grandma came out to meet me. She explained that she made all of the banchan.

The outside of the building is not much to look at. The inside is not much better. If your looking for a fancy place in a nice area this aint it.

I had the “DAE JI GOGI” PULLED PORK WITH SPICY KOREAN BBQ SAUCE. They were good.

My side was the Sesame Fries and they were awsome. The ketchup is not the normal stuff. I am not quite sure how to descibe it but I am sure it had Gochujang in it.

A friend took me to this little "hole in the wall" restaurant almost 25 years ago. We thought it was our best kept secret, with amazing fresh food, generous portions and low prices. Word caught on fast somewhere down the road because the place is always busy.
When I go back home I always try to get in a visit...the food is the exact same, although the prices have gone up, but we'll blame that on cost of living...
Eating at the Bul Go Gi House is like smelling an old perfume your Mom used to wear, takes you back and makes you smile!

I have to post about my parents restaurant in my hometown of Oklahoma City. When my mother immigrated to this country in 1970, she was very young with very little English and a small daughter (with another on the way!). She learned English, she learned to drive, she learned to cook American food and she learned to find ways to make Korean food for herself and her family with very little resources (not a lot of Korean people or Korean food stores in OKC in the early 70s). She worked hard and managed to raise all 5 of her daughters who went on to become great successes themselves. At the age of 63, she decided to open a restaurant and share her life and her food with the rest of the world. And what can I say? Real Korean food from a real Korean grandmother in the heartland. It's what I grew up eating and what my children will call real Korean food.

This place used to be called BonChon Chicken. It's well known around the city, part of the "Korean Wave" of chicken restaurants that have achieved some popularity.

It's pretty much the same as BonChon, I've no idea why they changed the name. And if you like chicken or fried chicken, you really need to come here and try this. If you've lived in Korea you know all about the fried chicken places there; this is a slightly upscale version.

Chicken, beer, soju, some california rolls that I never tried... the point of coming here is for the chicken, it's really something else. Crispy, tender, the texture is really amazing. And how they make it spicy, I just can't figure it out.

I've yet to meet someone who didn't like it. It's far from traditional Korean food, but it's run by Koreans, the decor reminded me of a nice Korean bar, and the chicken is definitely a Korean fried chicken.

The service is awful. They might not speak English, and you've really got to grab ahold of them or they will never come to help you.
