Hello!
I am so glad to have found Maangchi, where I can learn how to make food I had growing up.

Having learned to cook mostly through TV cook shows in the US, I tried to interpret similarities in Japanese and Chinese cooking according to what I think Korean food should taste like. Until lately I have been looking more into recipes for specific Korean dishes.

Maangchi's techniques of cooking which simplifies some steps while still maintaining the original flavor of the dish is also what makes her (recipes) so great! (such as the cabbage kimchi recipe) I have so much appreciation!

I love hunting down sources for ingredients not readily found and I love introducing people to new types of food by cooking them myself. I am thinking of having a small Korean food stall at a weekly flea market in Berlin as my weekend activity for the spring... Maybe.... :)
