Hi everyone. I recently joined the site and have spent the last month crazily cooking Korean food which has been loved by every kiwi who has tried it.
Today my country was devastated by a terrible earthquake. I just want to ask you all to pray for those people who are tonight stuck in the cold rain with no hope of rescue. Please pray for them or spare some thoughts for them. This is the worst disaster to hit my country in living memory.
I hope that it will not be deemed inappropriate for me to post this here but I am sure that Maangchi, who has been the epitome of gentility will not frown upon it. Please think of my people tonight. New Zealand is suffering greatly.

I hope you are ok, and the disaster is over! Yes, we will pray for your country!

I am thinking about you and your countrymen. I was shocked to hear of the earthquake today. I hope that the death toll will not rise above what has been reported and I am keeping those people that are suffering in my thoughts.

Thanks mokpochica. We are all watching closely. New Zealand is now in a state of emergency for the entire country so the government can act faster.

hey! I just heard about the news yesterday and i was devastated. I’ve planned for months to have a vacation in New Zealand and I’m gonna stop by Christchurch for 2 days but the plan has to be cancelled! Sad and disappointed but I’m glad that it’s finally over and I hope the Kiwis will stay strong…Hwaiting!!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Things are rather terrible here but everyone is helping out – the country has mobilised to do what it can for the people of Christchurch.
