Hi Maangchi,

I was watching 아빠 어디 가, a korean entertainment show, and in one episode they made a traditional dish called 감자옹심이 for the old people as breakfast. It seems to be a very traditional and delicious dish. Could you provide recipe for that?

Thank you!

Hi Depang,

Good recipe, I like it spicier so I add a teaspoon of chili powder or you can add some spicy snack mix and ground ginger with other spices and a can of coconut milk with the courgette. Pretty appetizing as a dish.

Maangchi,

Are you still planning on doing a video for gamjajeon? I had it at a Korean restaurant several days ago and loved it! Seemed pretty simple, mostly potatoes and green onion with a wonderful soy/vinegar dipping sauce. It would be great to see how you make it and your recipe.

Thanks,

This is one of the best! Spicy and tasty!

Boil about 400 gram of small (French) potatoes in about 1 liter of broth (beef), add some salt as well...just a little.

mix 150 gram of minced meat with one tablespoon of sesame oil, one tablespoon of korean chili powder, one tablespoon of gochujang paste and two chopped cloves of garlic.

When the potatoes are well cooked, add the mix and let it boil for 5 minutes.

add one courgette (small parts) and half a leek (chopped) and leave it for another 5 minutes.

finishing touch will be a bit of spring onion on top when you put the bowls on the table.

This is one of my absolute favourite soups!

sure gamjajeon (potato pancake) will be posted someday in the future. Yeah, even thought the recipe looks very simple, watching how I make it will be better.

Hello! First, I love your website so much!
Second, can you please post a recipe and how to make a Gamja Jeon?
I've searched around and I never got the recipe, some people said that it's a common thing to know how to make it.. But I am not Korean so I don't know how to make it. It seems to be very easy to make it. Very very simple ingredients and method. But I want to know the exact recipe for the traditional simple gamja jeon (the one without other veggies in it, just potatoes and onion?) Can you please post the recipe :) Thank you!
