I found Maangchi’s website about a year ago and am soooo happy that I did! My mom always cooked such delicious Korean food, but unfortunately never taught me how. I hadn’t eaten Korean food for about 4 years and found myself craving for it the longer time passed! So I can’t even begin to say how excited I was when I came across Maangchi’s page :)!

Maangchi, thank you so much for sharing these recipes!!

I’m from San Diego and I’ve cooked some of Maangchi’s dishes. I go to Zion Market to get my Korean ingredients.

Thanks rv65 :)! I actually just found out about Zion Market a few months ago – I try not to go on weekends though, haha. They used to sell songpyeon that was already made, but I can never seem to find it anymore :(. I’m going to try to make it myself now so hopefully it will turn out right. Do you happen to know anywhere else I can get songpyeon?

      swsd,

Try First Korean Market. I’ve never been there but they might just have it.

      4625 Convoy St

(between Dagget St & Opportunity Rd)

      San Diego, CA 92111

It’s located in Convoy and it’s not too far from Zion Market.

It’s a smaller market though but who knows if they have songpyeon.

      rv65 or swsd,

Do you guys know of a Korean book store and DVD/Movie store around the San Diego area? I live in Oceanside and go down to Zion Market every once in a while. Unfortunately I can’t avoid the rush hour on the weekends since I live so far away. I have to go on the weekends. :(
