I made this before. It's so yummy.
Here's the recipe:

Yeast Mixture Ingredients:

    * 1/2 Cup Warm Water
* 1/2 Tbsp Yeast
* 1/2 Tbsp Sugar

Dough Ingredients:

    * 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
* Yeast Mixture
* 1 Cup Milk
* 1/2 Tbsp Salt

Filling Ingredients:

    * 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
* 1/4 Cup Sugar
* 15 Chopped Peanuts (1 1/2 Tbsp)
* 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

To make a yeast mixture, in 1/2 cup of warm water, add 1/2 Tbsp of yeast and 1/2 Tbsp of Sugar. Set it in warm place for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, sift 3 cups of all purpose flour in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture, 1 cup of milk, and 1/2 Tbsp salt into the bowl. Knead the dough. Because the dough is sticky, add flour to your hands. Form into a ball and cover with plastic wrap. Set the dough in the oven with just the light on for 3 hours.The heat from the light bulb is enough to let it rise. After 3 hours, it will double in size. To make the filling, combine 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 1/2 Tbsp of chopped peanuts, and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Mix all together.

Instructions for wrapping Hoddeok:
1. Oil hands before working with dough.
2. Take a little larger than a golf ball and roll then flatten the dough.
3. Add a spoonful of the filling to the center.
4. Wrap the dough round it.

Pour some oil into a pan which is at a med-high temperature.
Place the dough balls into the pan. About 10 seconds later, flip over then flatten with a spatula. Fry until golden brown.

jambo, about a month ago me and the wife used that recipie but used half flour and half sweet rice flour. They taste great and the texture is awsome but they are a lot of work. To make them the easy way you can use can biscuits (not the flaky ones).

Hi there,

I really can't remember where I originally found this recipe, it is basic so modify to preference. (The first one I tried was in 인사동 and had corn and peas mixed into the dough, which I still love in the cold weather.)

So...
Add 1 tsp yeast, 1/2tsp sugar to 1/2 cup of warm water, and let it sit for about 10 mins until the mix starts to foam.

Add to this 1 cup of milk, 1/2 tsp salt and sift about 3 cups of flour into the mix to get a firm dough and knead until well combined. Place into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for a couple hours in a warm place.

For the filling, mix 1 cup of brown sugar, 3 tbsp crushed peanuts and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon.

Pinch off a golfball-ish sized lump of dough and flatten out in the palm of your hand. Push down a 1/2 tbsp of mix into the middle of the dough and then pinch the dough closed over the top of it.

Heat oil in a frypan and when the oil is hot add the doughball and flatten out into a pancake. Fry in the oil until browned, cooking evenly on both sides.

Place into a folded 12x7-ish piece of cardboard and be careful when you get to the filling^^.
Enjoy!
