This is much of a Korean/Chinese dish rather than a traditional Korean one. If you are in LA, you can go to Korea Galleria (Western and Olympic) and you will find Jin Heung Ghak on the food court (right next to the stair case). The best part of jampong is the soup!!!

Hey Maangchi,

I really enjoy your website! I wanted to also let you know that I too would love to get a recipe for Jjampong. I loved this soup when I was younger and unfortunately, there are no restaurants that I know that make it. If you get a chance, please share your recipe. Thanks!

Michael,
Of course, I know about Jjampong (짬뽕) : ) The pronunciation of the food sounds funny.
I have not posted the recipe yet, but am planning to do it later. Thank you!

Hi Maangchi:

Yours is my new favorite website. It is fantastic.

In a Korean restaurant I used to frequent, they had a dish called Jampong. I don't ever see that name on other menus when I go out, and am wondering if it is known by another name. It is a bright red, spicy seafood stew with lots of noodles. It usually has clams, mussels, and shrimp.

Have you heard of this dish? And is there another name by which it is known? And lastly, have you posted any recipes for it?

Thanks so much!

Michael
