Hi Maangchi,
I just received your new cookbook and love it. The colorful pictures are beautiful. It’s so helpful to see an actual picture of the ingredients you’re talking about. I am even more excited to try out your recipes. Although I have purchased some of the ingredients (inspired by your videos) but have not attempted anything yet. So glad you published this book and lots of success to you.

I received the cookbook today as well. However, even though I preordered it in February, I didn’t get the signed bookplate. I’m guessing I either preordered on the wrong place, preordered too early, or it’s shipped separately.
Oh well. The recipes in this book are absolutely fabulous and even though I had just eaten before reading it, my mouth was watering and I was getting a little hungrier with each picture. I can’t wait to try some of them out, even though I haven’t really cooked all that much before. I’m thinking of trying out hotteok first… :)

Cookbook,
I also didn’t get the signed book plate.
I want to try the fried chicken wings!

I’m glad you like my cookbook! : )
By the way, to get a signed bookplate, you needed to send your book receipt to my publisher before May 10th. They will mail you the bookplate separately from the book.If you forgot to email them before May 10, email them now and ask if they can mail you a bookplate. They are at: hmhcooks@gmail.com
I hope they still have some left over for you!

I am so glad I found your post (Maangchi). I didn’t recieve my book until the 20th, even though I ordered it in March, and if you order through amazon, they didn’t tell you to send your reciept anywhere! Needless to say, I’ve contacted the publisher, so here’s to hoping! Either way, it’s an amazing book with great details and personal stories you don’t find in other cookbooks. I’m having a blast just reading it for leisure and planning out what I want to cook in the future!

Hi Maangchi.
I received your most beautiful cookbook last week. I have been following you and trying your recipes for years. You have GIVEN SO MUCH SO FREELY for so many years, it’s nice to see you get something back! Your picture is beautiful, and the food photos are lovely as well. Thank you for taking the mystery out of Korean cooking. I so love making the dishes in my own kitchen, particularlly the vegetable and egg recipes. Kimchi rules! Maanghi rules too!

AdamB: it sounds like you went through the book already! Thank you for your nice words, I really worked hard on the book, so it’s nice to get this message.
Oxide: Thank you, too! I’m sure that you will be busy cooking new recipes for a while! Good luck!

Hi Maangchi,
Congratulations on your new cookbook. It arrived today. It is a thing of beauty — and your photos in it are awesome!

Hello!
I’m from Germany and have asked a US friend to preorder for me in order to be able to receive a bookplate!
However, it seems to have never arrived at her place. She sent the email to hmhcooks@gmail.com on April 4th, I have the screenshots and receipt saved if you need to see them! She never got a reply to her emails and has already sent a second email on May 27th inquiring about the bookplate when it didn’t come with the book itself :(
Are they still being shipped or is this an internal error causing her to not receive it? - June 2, 2015 at 7:24 am #62006AdamBParticipant
Noodle, I haven’t gotten mine yet, either. I wrote the publisher again, too. I’m not worried about it. I think they’ll get to it in their own time. They are a major publisher so are probably pretty big, lots of departments, lots of people. They did a beautiful job on that cookbook. I hope it becomes a classic. I’m investigating the soup chapter at the moment!
