Hi!
Tomorrow (9th of April) it’s my birthday and I wonder if anyone have any suggestions on what to eat?
What would be a really nice Korean dish on a birthday?Either I will make it my self or I might even go to an Korean restaurant!

If you want to be traditional, I urge you to have seaweed soup. Women eat it right after delivering babies in Korea, as seaweed is mineral rich and is believed to help with lactation and uterine contractions. I had a baby a year ago and had my fill.
On birthdays, we eat seaweed soup to honor our mothers and be reminded of their labor. It’s a symbolic tradition and, in fact, when someone tells us it’s their birthday in Korea, our response is always, “Oh really? Did you eat your seaweed soup yet?”
I believe maangchi has a beef based seaweed soup recipe, which is delicious. Some Koreans also do it with clams, which is also delicious if you are into seafood.
