I have pretty severe diabetes. Starches cause my blood sugar to get too high. Cauliflower makes a fabulous sustitute for whole rice but, I need a substitute for rice flour and porridge. Any ideas?

Oh wow. I’ve been recently diagnosed and found a rice type/blend that works for me, but my diabetes isn’t severe enough to avoid all starches altogether, so I’m not sure about anything non-starch. Wish I could be of more help.

If you are using the porridge for making kimchi you can simply leave it out. Just be sure to mix your kimchi really good and you may need to remix the next day. The porridge helps to coat the vegetables.

Can you have banana? My wife just tried this and she was happy with the result. If you do use a banana you can leave out the sugar.
