I’m Korean, raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to eat Korean food at home everyday, so we rarely ate out. I can see why now, Korean food served at restaurants is expensive!!! I was never taught how to cook Korean food since Mom was the one who did all the cooking, while my brothers and I were in our room waiting to be called for food. Now that I’m living away from my family, I really miss Korean food. I am extremely happy to find Maangchi’s website. Learning how to cook Korean food on this site brings back sweet memories of my mom’s food. Thanks so much Maangchi.
I’m also from San Diego and I’ve cooked some of Maangchi’s recipes.
