Hello from Michigan!

Hi I’m Kimchi Fan, and it describes me to a “T”. I was first introduced to Korean food 30+ years ago, shortly after I began training in Tae Kwon Do, while I was in the Army. I was lucky enough to be able to accompany my instructor, and a small group of my classmates to one of their, on base, quarters, after we would workout for 2-3 hours. Upon getting there, one of my classmate’s Mother-in-law, would have meal of kimchi, bugolgi, and rice ready to help refuel our bodies. That was my introduction to Korean food, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Because of my instructor’s enthusiasm for the Korean culture, I too began to learn as much as I could, and was very enthused about it as well. Later, while stationed in Germany, one of the soldiers in my platoon, who was married to a Korean, was kind enough to provide me with a jar of homemade kimchi from time to time. Several weeks ago, by chance, I was blessed to discover this website. The recipes here are unbelievable! Last weekend I tracked down a local Korean grocery store, and bought some of their homemade kimchi, very tasty, and some freshly made vegetable pancakes, at their suggestion, also very tasty. Thanks Maangchi, as I can’t wait to begin trying out your recipes, everything looks delicious!
