  1. Hi all - I found this site about 3 weeks ago. Since then I have cooked as many recipes from here as I can fit in! My whole family is now eating Korean whether they want to or not because I always have so many left overs.

    I live in Wellington (the capital of New Zealand) and have been a foodie in general for some time (with my interest being mostly French and modern British cuisine). Korean food is the first food I have cooked that I feel truly satisfied with my efforts.

    I run a website (listverse.com) and work from home. I have a cat (Dexter), dog (Bruno), two finches (Ugolino and Hildegard), and lots of fish (mostly unnamed).

    I love to spend all day preparing and cooking - my most recent Korean BBQ took me from 10 in the morning until 8 at night - I made 7 side dishes and pork belly BBQ. I loved every minute of it. I have bought the complete series of the Grand Chef and am now watching a few episodes a night. It is the first Korean Drama I have seen and it is well worth the watch if you haven't seen it.

    I hope to cook every recipe here.

    You have some great pictures posted on your Flickr, you must be a great cook!

    I know how you feel when you say korean cuisine is the first food that truly satisfies the effort.
    Before i always thought that korean cooking was very difficult and elusive.

    But, with maangchi it's made very accessible and easy.
