Hello from Texas,
I would like to say thank you for taking the mystery out of Korean cooking. I have been following Maangchi on YouTube for the past 4 or 5 years. Luckily I was introduced to Korean food as a small child and have been making Kim-chee since I was 10( I am now 38). Until I found Maangchi on YouTube my Korean food seemed to be missing something. It is all in the technique!!! Thank you for clarifying. It is refreshing to see so manny people interested in Korean cooking. I don’t feel all alone anymore. You know, like the feeling of being in a Korean market and feeling like the only nonkorean in the building.
I know that feeling also, but since I read the ingredients list and have been making a lot of Maangchi’s recipes I no longer feel awkward when I shop at the local Korean grocery store.
