As usual, I LOVE, LOVE your site. I have a question to ask you. I don't know the name of this item and hop you can help me. It's japchae wrapped with seaweed and deep fried. What is the name of this? And do you have a recipe for this? I know that this is pretty straightforward. But, I would like the name of it, so I can ask for it when I'm at a Korean store. Thanks!
It's 김말이 (kimmari). You cant really buy this at a Korean store - you have to make it. I think the recipe is pretty simple but I dont have one at hand right now.
It's also called 뒤김 (twe-kim)if its the thing I'm thinking of. They have it at all the streets food stands in Seoul during the night.
i recently saw this at a store. they're frozen and premade. i live in beaverton, oregon so i'm pretty sure bigger cities have had these at their korean markets wayyy before we have.
