I read the reviews and comments before purchasing a Rice Cooker.
I get the confusion about measuring. I think the measuring cup provided is a 1 to 1 meaning 1 of the provided measuring cup of rice to 1 of the provided measuring cup of water.

I did not use the provided measure cup. Instead, I measured out a U.S. 1 cup of rice into a bowl, rinsed it a couple of times. The rice cooker bucket has measure marks inside in I cup increments.
I filled the rice cooker bucket to the 1 cup level with the water.

Next, I put the rinsed 1 cup of rice into the bucket and closed the lid, pushed the cook button and then the “white rice” button and let it do its thing. The rice was perfectly cooked. I use it for basmati and sticky rice and have not tried it with brown rice. I usually cook the rice a couple of hours before needing it.

Without using the “keep warm” button it has remained warm. Clean up is a snap with the non-stick coating. I appreciate that my 8 cup unit doesn’t take up a lot of storage space.

Rice cooker is the fact that it cooks perfect rice every single time. This isn’t a big deal; you can always start over, but with a rice cooker, you never have to worry about it. You put some water in a pot and you get perfectly cooked, fluffy rice every single time, even when you’re distracted.

This reply might be too late for you but it might help others ;-)

You need to check the voltage and frequency.
      Korea: 220v/60Hz
      Europe: 220-240v/50Hz
      US: 110v/60Hz

You got to make sure the voltage is right. I’m quite sure that a 220v appliance wont work at 110v as that is litterally half the voltage.

When it comes to frequency you might be lucky that a 60Hz appliance might work on 50Hz and vice versa. Do keep in mind that it can go wrong, or that it works but that the lifespan gets reduced a lot..

I wanted to buy a ricecooker in Korea but I decided not to. I bought a Cuckoo locally which is made for 220/240v 50Hz.
