Okay this is possibly a stupid topic. I noticed in one of the videos. There was a purplish looking rice. I had this before at a restaurant, but do not know how it is made or called. Can anybody help me in this?

I believe it is black or purple rice, what you have seen. It is simply rice without the hull removed and when cooked, it has a dark purplish color to it and has a nutty flavor. There are different varieties such as short grain, jasmine (long grain) and sweet (stickly) purple rice.
