Hi – While traveling to the nearest asian market earlier this week (which is 45 min away!), I bought a couple extra korean radishes. I have not cut them up in any way so they are whole.
I’m looking to use these radishes to include in some soups. Can I cut and freeze the pieces for use in soups sometime in the next month? Does the radish freeze well or does it lose some of the texture if frozen?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations! :)

Cut off the green leaves, wrap in newspaper and keep in the crisper. I do not think that they will freeze very well.

yes, keep your radish outside of the fridge. As powerplantop said, wrap each radish in newspaper and put them in a cool place. If radish is kept in cold temperature, the texture will change. When you cut it, you will see the radish in the center will look like sponge and taste like sponge. Sweet potato is the same.

Maangchi~~~
Oh no! I didn’t see this post until I had already sliced my radish ㅠㅠ
The sections are around 1 1/2 inches thick and still in round disc shapes.
If I already cut my radish, is there a way to store it still? It takes a little while for me to use all of the huge radish. Please let me know if you have any suggestions~
감사합니다!!

Hi Megan, that’s such a good question! : )
I wrap the leftover radish (peeled and cut) in a paper towel first, put that into a plastic bag, and then wrap the whole thing in a newspaper. I store it in the vegetable box and my fridge. It lasts long time up to about 2 weeks because the radish doesn’t get too cold.
