Yay! I’m a winner of the competition!

As I mentioned through my twitter a while ago, I am the one of the winners of the “Blog Korea, visit Korea” competition. The prize LG netbook (LGX12) arrived at home a few days ago.

The cute and small computer was packed tightly enough to be unbreakable even if it were dropped from a few meters high.

Now I have 3 computers: my desktop, laptop, netbook, and 1 iphone!

I don’t think I can find any excuse for not reading my emails unless I try really hard.

Oh, besides the netbook, they sent me other presents: sun shade for a car, a frisbee , travel neck pillow, and picnic mat.

I am already excited about my next trip with this cute netbook and the neck pillow!

Sometimes people ask me what I use to make this website. These days I use that Dell laptop for all of it, even video editing. It’s A Dell Studio with a “seaweed” skin by Mike Ming.

When I first started making cooking videos, I used the video function of a Sony DCS-50 digital camera for filming, and Premiere Elements to edit. A year ago I got a Panasonic SDR-57 camera as a gift, and I learned how to use Premiere Pro for editing. Just last week I got a new camera, a Canon Vixia HF11. So my next video will look great!

  2. Congratulations with your winning the “Blog Korea, Visit Korea” competition. Many fans already expressed appreciation for your work so there is not much left to add. Your videos are so good in providing non-Koreans insight in Korean cooking. And always in a pleasant and accessible manner. Thank you for your videos and recipes!

    One cannot argue about taste of course. Yet, while many people simply enjoy Korean food, there is little doubt that Korean food has health benefits as well with all those fresh vegetables, and generally low in fat. Few people in Korea are overweight, let alone obese. Since the Korean government strives to promote Korean signature dishes outside Korea, the health benefits would deserve more attention I suppose. Korean food is still relatively unknown, like a well-kept secret.

    Following several stays in Korea, I explored the Korean restaurant scene in The Netherlands and also tried out some home-made dishes. It was a bumby road in the beginning, but guided by your videos I exercised my skills on bibim naeng myun, bulgogi, mandu and bibimbap, and could achieved acceptable results. Thank you!

    With the many different Koreans sauces like gochujang, samjang, doenjang etcetera I was wondering if it would be a useful idea to cover those in one video since there are many common elements but also it would help explaining the differences. Another idea I would like suggest is a video on jang ban mak kuk su.
