This week our Korean food fan is Gillian in Toronto! She and her friends would travel an hour every week to go to the Korean restaurant, but now she makes delicious Korean dishes at home. I used to live in Toronto for years, so I know she has no problem finding Korean ingredients.
She says: “I love Korean food the best!” Nice meeting you, Gillian!

Gillian A.

What is your name and where do you live?

Hiya! My name is Gillian, and I currently live in Toronto, Ontario!  ~__^

Tell me about the first time you ever tasted Korean food. Where were you, and what did you eat?

My first encounter with Korean cuisine was in college when my friends and I found Korean Grill House in Toronto. We would all get together and travel an hour on transit to get downtown just to eat there. We did this at least once a week through most of my last year of college. We always got all you can eat! We brought family and friends there every chance we got!

How often do you cook Korean food?

Very often! I have memorized several I cook them so often! I love cooking and trying all kinds of new recipes, but in the end I love Korean food best. I learned all my recipes on your website, and I cook Korean cuisine several times a week for my husband and myself.

What are your 3 favorite Korean dishes?

Ack! So hard to choose just three! I love Dakgalbi, Dakbokkeumtang, and Bokkeumbap!

What’s your best Korean dish, the one that everybody compliments you on?

I love cooking for people! It is one of the most fun things! A lot of my friends don’t know much about Korean food, so I love making things like Spicy Pork and Bulgogi to introduce it to them! Regardless of the taste they always enjoy it! I made Tteokbokki and everyone ate it all, even though they were sweating!
