"Hi Maangchi, I've been followed your blog for years and i finally decided to make my own mak kimchi. Yesterday, i made some of the kimchi but added fresh pear instead of sugar. Will it not fermenting? I'm also worrying the taste since no there's no sugar added. I checked this morning (fermented 17 hours), and it's bubbling a bit. Do i need to open it and press down the kimchi?"
