"This is my second time making makgeoli. A couple of things I wanted to discuss, that are inconsistent with the results here. 1) The rice doesn't seem to break down into a thick goo. Mine keeps its shape. 2) It never turns an amber color - it is pure milky white. 3) It tastes lovely! Tart, a little sweet. It is not highly effervescent though. Any suggestions?"

"Maangchi-ssi - This soup is wonderful. Perfect. Perhaps the greatest soup in the universe. I have made it 4 times already. The flavors as they combine in its steamy goodness ... it is a great symphony of flavor, a marriage of love of flavors. I had a lot of fun making my own noodles using my grandmother's ancient wooden board, and it brought back many happy memories of how she showed her love for us by making fresh noodles. I hated this terrible cold winter USA 2014, but I fear winter no longer, knowing I have this soup to see me through the harshest days. I will make a gift of it to anyone who is not feeling well. My deepest gratitude for your generosity sharing these recipes and your hard work on the website and the videos."

"I bought some of this already made at a Korean store - was disappointed, because it was not spicy. But I let it go for a while, and the subtle flavor grew on me, as in I am now seriously addicted. I used your recipe, and the baek kimchi was wonderful. I am somewhat ashamed to say I loved it so much I ate the whole first batch myself and did not share. I am going to start a new batch tomorrow, and PLAN to share. Thank you, Maangchi-ssi!"

"I made my first kimchi yesterday! It was so easy, and it turned out delicious. I did not follow the recipe exactly (no squid or oysters) but I look forward to making it again and again. I am so excited! And my friends are excited. I already have two people who want me to make it for them. I have so enjoyed my start with Korean cooking and the recipes I have tried here so much that I am going to start a Korean garden in my yard this summer. I have tw varieties of cabbage, perilla, chives, Korean variety of daikon. If you can think of anything else I should add, Maangchi, I would be most grateful. I am going to have a wonderful summer growing food to use in your recipes, to enjoy myself and share with my friends."
