Maangchi is amazing. This wonderful dish is now on the list of meals I have to make at least once a month. Since the rice cake makes the dish so much more hearty, and thanks to Amazon is now readily available in the U.S., I’d encourage everyone to consider it an essential part of the dish, rather than merely an optional one. When my daughter asked me what this dish was, I said “Korean pizza.” When she asked where the bread was, I told her that the rice cake was way better than bread! As someone who’s cooked Italian dishes of all kinds for over 30 years, I’m pretty sure I’m right about that!
