Happy unbirthday to me : )

Eating mussels the first week end of september is traditionnal in the North of France where I was born and even if I don’t live there anymore I continue to pay my tribute to the tradition. I love it so much that I litterally ate mussels all through the week end thanks to different recipes.
I ended the fest with a delicious and healthy honghap Miyeokguk.

The recipe for Honghap miyeokguk – seaweed soup with mussels is here!

It’s so interesting to learn that people in the North of France traditionally eat mussels in September. Thank you for sharing your culture and I’m so impressed by the fact that you are keeping up on your country’s conditions! BTW, the honghap miyeokguk looks great!

      Fair trade ;)
I like the introductions of your recipes, telling how they are related to Korean culture and everyday life.
The funny part is that as Miyeokguk is a mandatory part of a Korean birthday, mussels are one of the first thing we talk about with my mother in september. « Hello son, I made mussels this week end, did you eat mussels too ? » if I say yes we talk about how we prepared it and if I say no « oh, come on home soon, I’ll cook it for you » :)

Thanks Maangchi for your recipes and your stories ! Keep going on !
