I *think* the alcohol is a product of fermentation in this case. So it should be a trace amount. I’m unsure of the specifics of your religion, but I hope this context helps a bit.

If you still can’t have it, you might try finding a recipe for homemade paste, and then neglect to ferment it. The flavor may not be as deep, but no alcohol!
