      Maangchi,

I have been watching your video for YEARS! I remember accidentally stumbling on your videos about 9 years ago or so because I wanted to learn how to make Korean food. My mom is Korean and father is Italian. My mom could make Italian food very well, but, she didn’t make good Korean food! Haha! A good kimchi jjigae is my favorite food. I have now learned to cook better than my mom and have even taught her how to make certain recipes. There were so many things I knew the Korean name for, but, I didn’t know what they were called in English (ie gosari, kalchi fish) and I couldn’t find the things I wanted because I didn’t know what they were called in English. Your site has taught me how to make mujigae dduk which is my favorite kind of dduk. My mother always said that’s not really dduk, but, I remember the old ladies carrying pots on their heads selling it at the shijang and always missed it.
I love that Korean food is in the limelight with fusion cooking, but, I’m glad you keep it authentic. I remember a long time ago I asked if you could make doenjang! Haha! Whenever a friend’s relative would get some, we treated like it was precious jewelry or something! No store bought doenjang tastes like shigol doenjang.
Thank you for teaching me how to make all the things I didn’t ever learn while growing up. And, thank you for having these wonderful recipes. I have made EVERY SINGlE one of your recipes, even the makkeuli, kochujang, and soy sauce!
      Komabsupnida!!
