Alternative to Fermented salted Shrimp

Hi Maangchi!
I have recently find my love for Korean food. I love cooking, I love experimenting different tastes and recently, I’ve been making some Kimchi following your recipes. However, where I live it’s not easy to get hold of Fermented Salted Shrimp. I have been making it without the shrimp. Still tastes delicious with just fish sauce (my friends/family loves them and the Korean chicken)! But, I was wondering, what’s athe adifference between fermented shrimp and the shrimp paste? Could I not use the shrimp paste a as a substitute?
