Chum?? Dipping sauce

We were at our local wang mart and were given a dipping sauce, he said it was called chum sauce. Not sure how it is spelt or pronunced if someone can help me our so I know what it really is called and spelt
Maybe it’s “Nouc Chum”:
“Nouc chum is a mixture of this fish sauce with lemon, vinegar, sugar, water, garlic, chillies and sometimes even grated ginger.”
