      Hello!
This semester I have to do an informative speech and chose kimchi as my topic. At first, I was only going to go over the process of making kimchi, but a friend of mine and a classmate said I should talk about the cultural aspect.

I researched a bit into some of the culture surrounding this food, but I still have some questions:

      What is kimchang/gimchang?

What is the process of burying kimchi and how does this process affect the taste? Is there a name for this process?

Have you ever taste ripened kimchi (Kimchi that has been fermented for a few months or years)? How does it taste?

What are the ‘must have’ ingredients for kimchi?

And what is the most important impact kimchi has had on Korean culture?

And lastly, if there is any general information I should have about this dish within my presentation, please feel free to share your input.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

These are interesting questions, and I look forward to someone answering them authoritatively.
In the meantime, may I suggest you use Maangchi’s recipe for Kimchi to make a batch, and distribute samples to your audience during your presentation. This will add a great dimension to your pitch, as well as add to your final grade in all likelihood.
      Good luck.
