Hello Maangchi and everyone else here!

My name is Amy. I am American, but in college I had a roommate from South Korea and we would drive 100 miles almost every weekend to visit a Korean restaraunt and grocery store. That was 10+ years ago, and I really wanted some of the food again and I ended up on this website. I love everything I’ve tried from here.

I’m currently trying to get my mom and some other relatives interested in Korean food, but many of them hate spicy things so it’s a challenge sometimes! Thankfully, my local grocery store just recently started stocking napa cabbage and a few other things I had trouble finding around here before.

Here is a photo the kimchi-jjigae I made this past weekend from Maanchi’s recipe. Very good, though I forgot to buy tofu and I substituted beef for pork. This is my new favorite website. :)
