So I’m planning on making my own gochugaru with home grown, sun dried gochu, since the usual weather here in Maryland is similar to parts of South Korea. I found the variety of gochu seeds, have a plan for a garden bed for next season, and managed to calculate how much soil and fertilizer I’ll need. The only problem is it seems everyone uses a large mechanized mill to grind up their peppers, while I only have a hand cranked food mill! It has 3 settings; one for a very coarse grind, one for a slightly finer grind, and a setting for a fine grind. Is it still possible to create nicely ground gochugaru with only a hand cranked mill?

      Thanks in advance!
