Hi there! I have been asked to teach a cooking class (2 – 40 minute sessions for 5 days) for teenage Korean adoptees at an overnight summer camp for Koreans. Most of the kids don’t have a lot of cultural exposure. This camp gives them some insight into the Korean culture and it helps them connect with other Korean/Asians in the state. I’m looking for suggestions on what dishes are the most important and easiest to make. Of course we will make Kim Bap but I am not sure after that. Jap Chae is another dish that I know how to make. I was thinking about a rice cake dish. Getting the ingredients is another obstacle because I live in a remote part of Northern Michigan. We are volunteers and have to pay out of pocket for the food and supplies so I am looking for easy, inexpensive dishes that 20 kids can make in about 30 minutes. Any ideas would be helpful.

I just looked up recipes and saw your photo! It looks amazing :o)
I will try it. It is a traditional dish and I see it being eaten in all the Korean drama. I am going to the Korean market in Detroit this weekend and will get the ingredients. I’ll ask for chili paste that isn’t so spicy for kids. Thanks for your input!
