Maangchi! A few months ago a made spicy stir fried tofu when I got hungry after some studying. I love cooking and when I cook at home I always follow my heart (maybe my stomach mostly hehe). I always follow my instinct and use flavors that I know will work. Maybe the flavors I used might inspire you to help me find a traditional Korean recipe with tofu and spicy, sweet, and a little salty flavors!
For my lunch, I cubed firm tofu, and fried it with some vegetable oil. After my tofu was brown and a little crispy on the outside, I took out my tofu, and turned my pan to low heat. Added some gochujang, soy sauce, a teeny tiny bit of fish sauce, some honey for sweetness to balance with the spicy and salty flavors, minced garlic and ginger, sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, and some thinly sliced green onion for flavor, color, and garnish. After the flavors mixed together in the pan on medium-low heat, I stir fried again with the tofu this time. Garnished with sesame seeds and some left over green onion sliced thinly. So delicious! Especially with my rice!
