Hi,Maangchi
I wonder you remember the corn bread we used to get as a free lunch in Korea long time ago in late 1960s when Korea was a poor country. It was my favorite corn bread which is very rusty, moisture and not sweet like American’s corn bread. You are so much younger than me so I don’t think you remember that corn bread. If you know about this corn bread ,could you let me know how to make it. Thank you. Heeyoung from San Jose ,Ca

Hi Heeyoung!
I know about the corn bread! It was free snack that we had everyday at school. I miss the taste because it reminds me of a lot of good memories from when I was young. We used to get the bread after cleaning the classroom. It was delicious!
Yes, I will try to develop a recipe with the texture, sweetness, and flavor of that bread.
So nice to meet you through my website, maybe someday we can get together and talk about old time Korean snacks!

Not all American corn bread is sweet. In the south the corn bread is definitely not sweetened. Try a southern cornbread recipe and work from there maybe? Good luck, and Maangchi I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
