    Hello everyone~ I’m new here and I haven’t managed to skim through the whole forum yet, so I apologize if this has been addressed before.

    Wherever I make Korean food, I have the hardest time figuring out what side dishes to make. For example, if I make a soup, I wrack my brain for ages trying to figure out what to make with it.

    Is there some sort of guidance on pairing side dishes? It can’t just be random, right? 😅



    I like sour sides with sweet main dishes like Bulgogi.

    I like sweet sides like danmuji or Gobo/Ueong Jorim (braised burdock root) to go with spicy and/or sour main dishes

    Both go well with plain rice or somewhat neutral main dishes.

    Radish sides with yukaejang. Radish goes good with beef.
