Hi there, may i know if you guys know what is the difference between Shin kimchi (신김치) and Mugen kimchi (묵은 김치)? Are they practically the same? :)

      신 means sour

      묵은 means aged

So although both are more than likely sour there is a difference. Ive bought aged kimchi before. It was over a year old. I think it was 2yrs old actually. Well aged kimchi is certainly better than just sour kimchi in stew.

Hi @EvilGrin, many thanks for you explanation provided! I had tried both and actually found out that aged kimchi tasted better too! ;)
