Are they the same? I have read (and some brands say) that some sesame oils are just for finishing/drizzing, and should not be used during actual cooking. Any opinions? Also, which brands of sesame oil do people like for Korean cooking?
Oil from not roasted sesame seeds tastes bland in comparison and spoils easily.
Try to get a Korean brand of pure roasted sesame seed oil.
Chung Jun One and Ottogi sesame oil is actually made in China. Get good Kadoya sesame oil from Japan. Kodoya has a nice strong flavor. Beksul brand is made in Korea if you really want Korean made.
