Hello NKMummy, I’m not Maangchi of course, but I read your message and thought I’d let you know that there is a soy free “soy” sauce! It’s made from coconut and apparently it’s available at whole foods :D

I think you could make recipes the normal way, but leave out the sesame oil and seeds. You could even just set aside a portion for your daughter and put the seeds and oil only in the portions of food for other family members.

leahangelMemberThat’s so cool! Thanks for sharing :D
leahangelMemberHave you guys seen this recipe? This guy makes it spicy for some reason, but you could leave out the spice.

I know it’s not Maangchi, but you could get your galbi tang fix at least ;)
leahangelMemberI love everyone’s info thanks!! This community is the best :)
leahangelMemberHi, I’m in Seattle too! Well, ok, Lake Forest Park, but it’s still Seattle ;) We have a lot of good Korean restaurants up north. Where is everyone’s favorite restaurant and/or store for Korean food?
leahangelMemberThanks Kumaxx, that beef soup seems like it would do the trick!
I hadn’t seen that recipe yet. I love a nice scalding hot soup when I’m sick :)
I am sorry I ate the ramyon, it’s also so full of salt. Not good when you’re trying to flush stuff out of your body I’m sure.
Chicken soup with lemon and garlic sounds good too. What is it called in Korean?
leahangelMemberThey look beautiful!! Yum yummy! I want to try to make some this weekend :D
leahangelMemberIf you like spicy food try getting a case of Shin Ramyun, it’s the best! I like to add in baby spinach leaves (or other greens I have around), cilantro, soybean sprouts, tofu, and/or green onion. I rarely add in meat, but I think spam would be good. Also any left over meat you may have in the fridge :)
