    Hi,
I just goggled up on Culantro. Nope. It isn’t what I meant. Infact, yesterday, I found the Cilantro Kimchi recipe but it was posted by a non korean stating that it was orignated from North Korea… the korean name for it is Gosu Kimchi. This kimchi goes well with meat. The taste is very refreshing. No hint of any bitterness in the vege.

Maangchi since you mentioned that you can’t handle pig’s feet, how about an improvised version using a big slab of pork belly block instead. I would really love to see your version of this dish. :D

Hi~ Back home in Malaysia we have a nyonya dish almost similar to the method you used which is using shrimp paste to cook with meat. Personally, I prefer my dish super hot so I use birds eye chillies, slices big onions, freshly cubed tomatoes, a little garlic, long beans & pork belly block. I love the salty, spicy & slightly sour taste. Oops~ Nearly forgot… add sugar to taste!

    Your so right!

I tried experimenting with other types of radishes too. I guess next time I try tasting a small piece of raw radish before proceeding further.

ahahahaha…. u simply ‘bantai’, hah? (sorry, I don’t know how to translate this word into English. :(

    p.s.

I encountered this bitter taste problem too. So, I tried squeezing out the water from the radish stripes rather than cubes. 1st attempt seemed ok. But it lacks that juiciness from the vegetable. Also another bantai case. hehe…

I haven’t been to the One Utama outlet but the ones in Ampang seened to have varieties to choose from. I suggest you check out the other stores around there. Some have freshly imported vegetables and frozen food stuffs while others don’t.

You’re not the only person who found the miracle in eating korean food. I was told that a foreigner who had high blood pressure before he went to work in Korea. After sometime there eating the local food, he discovered that his is no longer diagnosed with high blood pressure. Even his doctor was amazed with the results.

Grats on you losing weight. I too need to do some serious dieting but I simply love foods of all kinds, namely spicy food.
