Kerri says, "Oh my god! The mackerel was SO GOOD! It was long, so I cut it in half like in your video and made it both ways, in the broiler and fried. I thought I would like the fried version better, but the broiled version "couldn’t be better!"
It was so tender and sweet and juicy I could’ve eaten it all night! Even with the bones. I hadn’t thought much when I watched your video that I would be handling a fresh fish with my bare hands and pulling out guts, but suddenly there it was, and I had to. I cut it open in the sink and was glad I did.
Once I’d handled it a little bit I was fine. I thought he was very pretty with his blue stripes. I got very fond of him, but didn’t hesitate to eat him! On the plate the fried version is underneath and the broiled version is on top.
