I’ve successfully used honey, and agave nectar. I would think either of these, or as Sanne suggested, juice. It would really depend on the recipe you’re making.
ToastParticipantHi, I’m also from Florida! I’m not a gardening pro, but I can help a bit. I’ve found you definitely have to water plants in the morning and evening. All the plants I’ve planted have died in full sun, so I’ve taken to planting them in partial shade. It’s helped immensely. As for the crappy, I’m guessing sandy soil, you might have to use a raised garden or just add better soil to you own dirt. My yard is very sandy so I just use pots/planter boxes. The good thing about florida Sun/heat, is that you can pretty much grow almost anything year around. Good luck!
ToastParticipantI’ve personally used the powder in place of the flakes. I just start in small quantities until I get to the spicy I like. I’ve used it in making kimchi, bipimbap sauce, ddeokbokki, etc. I’m not sure if using this instead of the flakes has made a huge taste difference but I’ve found it to be good.
ToastParticipantHave you tried the chopsticks/spoon sets that come in a box like fork/spoon/butterknives? Here’s a link to a box set on Amazon. Box set tbh I’m only guessing they might be more quality because they’re a family set in a box.
The only ones I’ve ever bought have been individual ones. A set with a turtle that started rusting within the month I purchased them. The other had a brushed steel checkerboard pattern. These were thicker, heavier, and looked like they were solid steel. As opposed to the turtle set that was thinner, and looked like it was steel plated. I’ve had the checkerboard set since christmas 2015, use them weekly, and they haven’t rusted. Here’s a picture like the ones I bought. I think this is where I bought them, but I’m not sure. Anyways good luck in your search. Please post if you find some quality one’s :)
