Maangchi's cookbooks


Which to get? I suggest my second book, Maangchi's Big Book of Korean Cooking because it has the most recipes, but my first book has recipes for all the essential Korean pastes and sauces!
I bought this ice shaver to make the Korean summer dessert, patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red bean and fruit). You can purchase it on the internet if you live in the USA.
The 2 small containers come with the shaver and each holds about 1 cup water. Fill up the containers with water or your favorite fruit juice and then shave it in the electric shaver and use it in your cold food.
Add shaved ice to your cold noodles (naengmyeon) or cold cucumber soup side dish (oinaengguk) instead of cubed ice. It will make your dish more appetizing, beautiful, and delicious!
