First of all, thank you Maangchi for teaching me about Korean cuisine!
I first got bit by the Korean food bug when a Korean friend of mine brought home galbi to our remote ski town of Mammoth Lakes. I have had galbi before, but never like this! This batch was sent up with her by her mother from Irvine, CA and was the best I had ever had!
I then started researching more about Korean food and decided I wanted to try my hand at making my own kimchi. That was when I came across Maangchi and her recipes. I have since made gallons of kimchi for myself and friends! After a recent flight to LA, I stocked up on all of the ingredients that are impossible to find where I live like hot pepper paste and soybean paste. Now I am looking forward to trying my hand at making more and more Korean food!
