“Help with cup volumes/amounts/...”

    Hello,

    I've been visiting this site quite a lot of times and I'm looking forward to trying these recipes out. I have a kind of a problem concerning the cup volumes... Every now and then Maangchi does say 'a cup of ...', '1/2 cup of...', but in Europe (Belgium in my case) we use grams to mark the amount. I'm not sure how much grams go in a cup. Or rather: what a 'cup' is and where to get the right cups to measure the stuff I need for the recipes! :)

    Can anyone help me out with this? Many, many thanks!

    Ik gebruik zelf voor zaken als rijst, meel of vloeibare dingen gewoon een koffiekopje. Als het iets anders is, is het makkelijker om gewoon te schatten.

    Als u voor alles een kopje van dezelfde grootte gebruikt, maakt het niet zo veel uit hoe groot het kopje daadwerkelijk is.

    Ah, dankjewel :) Maar ergens blijft het vaag, je wilt niet weten hoeveel formaten 'kopjes' wij hier hebben ;) Vandaar dat ik ongeveer een idee wou hebben van wat ik onder een 'cup' kan verstaan.

    By the way, when Maangchi says 'a cup of something', you will see what ingredients she uses in her videos. When Maangchi says that, she isn't actually measuring it. What she's saying is about "volume" if I understand the meaning of it.

    Dictionary says:
    The volume of an object is "the amount of space that it contains or occupies".

    According to "Conversion Calculators": pls refer to "Convert volume measurements"

    1cups = 236.6 ml = 0.237 liters = 16 table spoons
